There is nothing that I have experienced before more intimidating or awe-inspiring than peering over the side of an anchored game boat and looking straight at a Great White Shark that is circling the boat.

Five minutes later this very same fish hooked onto my 20lb Smooth Hound bait and hooked up.

The ensuing fight, inclusive of explosive runs, lasted an hour and a half during which time it kept the pressure on by pulling the boat for over a mile.

It finally tired and the crew was able to release it.

The skipper estimated the shark at weighing approximately 2000 lbs… quite some fish!

The trip was planned to include six days of fishing, however, adverse sea conditions, unfortunately, limited us to just three.
A further three Great Whites took the bait, however, they all rolled and popped the line a characteristic that they have.
Two of them did jump prior to popping the line, which was a fantastic site to see.
